The Memphis Rapper Connects with His Paper Route Empire Compatriot Key Glock for “Standing On Top Of Sh*t” Video. The Longest-Tenured PRE Signee Prepares a 15-Track Mixtape With Guest Spots from Big Scarr, Jackboy, Big Moochie Grape, and More

The Announcement + Video:

Memphis rapper Jay Fizzle has what it takes to blow up in his city and beyond. Today, the Paper Route Empire rapper announces DonaFizzo, his next mixtape, is coming this week. Packed with high-definition production from heavy hitters like Bandplay, Sosa 808, Ayoza, and more, DonaFizzo is a no-holds-barred trapfest that highlights Fizzle’s tumbling delivery and facility with flexing. With style inspired by his mentor Young Dolph, Fizzle’s new project radiates the energy of a hungry artist who understands the kind of hustle and work ethic it takes to escape the circumstances of his birth. The tape is home to singles like the Bandplay-produced “Last Song,” the playalistic “4 HOS,” and most recently, the sinister SNUPE BANDZ collab “Murder.” Featuring appearances from his PRE family, including Key Glock, Big Moochie Grape, Joddy, and SNUPE BANDZ, plus a cadre of kindred spirits like Big Scarr, Jackboy, and 21 Lil Harold, DonaFizzo releases on August 12th via Paper Route Empire.

Along with the announcement, Fizzle shares “Standing On Top Of Sh*t,” a new video single. The song finds Fizzle going toe-to-toe with Key Glock, as the two longest-tenured Paper Route Empire signees strut their stuff atop ghostly vocal samples and thunderous Tennessee-style trap percussion. Both emcees are in fine form, as Fizzle compares his crew to an infamous Central Asian caliphate (“We the Taliban, blow up a n**** spot like a terrorist/But I’m not from Afghanistan, b*tch I’m from Memphistan”). At the same time, Mr. Glock expounds upon his unparalleled ability to blow a bag: “I stacked this cash up to the ceiling then went and bought a car with no roof.” In the video, Fizzle and Glock set a sinister vibe that matches their signature styles. Fizzle struts his stuff in a purple-tinged room with Illuminati imagery, while Glock stunts in surroundings draped by Yellow Tape.

DonaFizzo is the latest salvo in a busy year for Jay Fizzle and the rest of PRE. Fizzle kicked off the year with purpose, sharing “LLD,” a heartfelt tribute to his mentor Young Dolph. Adorned with lush harmonies and a star vocal turn from Ricco Barrino, “Long Live Dolph” finds Jay Fizzle baring his soul, the South Memphis native audibly emotional when he relays his gratitude to his mentor for teaching him everything he knows: “The way I talk, the way I walk, the way I act, the way I dress/The way I do my thing up in the booth, I learned it from the best.” With over 1.6 million views on YouTube, “LLD” is the opening track from Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph, a compilation album from the independent label, which features appearances from nearly every artist on PRE, including Key Glock, Big Moochie Grape, Kenny Muney and more.
